Shantise Hood, Intern in Counseling
As a mental health professional, I help individuals, couples, and families engage in some of life’s most difficult conversations. I am currently working towards my licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner (LSATP) as well as certification as a Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) for the state of Virginia. I have 7 years of experience in both community-based and non-profit sectors along with 1 year of experience working in private practice.
I use a holistic psychotherapeutic approach when working with individuals, couples, and families to navigate the multiplicity of challenges that arise in life. Challenges such as depression, anxiety, substance use, relationship issues, family discord, or other major life struggles, all while employing mindfulness, acceptance and commitment methods in helping to achieve desired goals for personal growth and wellbeing.

Amy has worked as a licensed school counselor in Fairfax County Public Schools since 2014 and she is a National Certified Counselor.
